Create or Import Vehicles

Equipment can be added manually one by one or you can import it from CSV file or import from Samsara Vehicles.


Importing Vehicles Manually, one by one 


1. On the Dashboard click Fleet + Staff then equipment. 


2.When Equipment window is open click on "Add Equipment".



3. It will ask the user what type of equipment you are adding, if you select Vehicle you will have to select what kind of vehicle it is (Cargo van, Truck, Dump Truck etc.). After you select Vehicle type, you can enter Vehicle’s VIN#.



If you select Trailers, you will have to select what kind of trailer it is (Dry Van, Dump, Flatbed etc.), trailer length and enter trailers VIN#.



4. After you have successfully entered Vehicle’s VIN you will be prompted to enter rest of the Vehicle’s info. Here is an example:


Please note that the fields marked with " * " are required and you can not proceed to the next step without filling them out.


5.  Next step is ownership information. If the Vehicle is company owned you can enter Purchase Cost, License Plante Number, License Plate State and registration Expiry Date are mandatory. Bellow that you can attach registration.  

  • If the Vehicle is Leasing Owned you will have to select Leasing Company’s Name and Lease or Credit Payment a month. 
  • If the Vehicle is owned by an Owner Operator you can select which Owner Operator it is.  


6. Next is Vehicles Documents. If you have selected Company Owned it recommend  Company documents which you can select by clicking on Select button right next to the document. In case you clicked select document accidentally you can easily remove it by clicking remove. 


If you want to add additional documents click on add another and you can select what kind of document it is, reference ID expiration date if document can expire, if not click no expiry and choose file that you want to upload.


 

7. Next is Connected Services. Here you can connect your Vehicle to a Connected Service Device. Please note you must first activate the Connected Service before you can find that service available in the image below. When you click Connect pop up window will ask you to type in Device’s Serial ID.  If you don’t have one, click skip.


 

8. Last step will be to purchase a Hardware. You can use navigation bar to scroll up and down through the menu where you can se the devices and their price. If you choose to add one or more devices button on the bottom 

right-hand corner will change into add to card. After that you can click on Create Equipment.  If you choose not to purchase any of the devices just click Skip and Create on the bottom right-hand corner. 





CSV Importing Vehicles 

If you want to add multiple Vehicles at once you can import them through Samsara or CSV file. 


1. Frist on the dashboard click on Fleet+Staff then equipment.



2.  Chose Import from CSV pop up window will show up where you can download template where you can enter all the information that is needed for vehicle to be created.

 

3. When you upload the file, if there is anything missing you can see that by hovering over  or clicking on the red triangle with exclamation mark inside and by clicking on three dots next to it you can enter missing info. Fields that have "required" bellow them are mandatory information for vehicle to be created. If everything is correct check the boxes on the left-hand side next to the vehicle that you want to import and click import on the bottom right-hand side corner. 



Note: using a navigation bar on the bottom of pop up window you can move left and right to see what is missing.

 


4. When all of the necessary information is in, you can save it by clicking on the “✓” on the left side of the bar. “✓” will change its color to green once everything is good.

After that check the boxes of the vehicles that you want to create on the left side and click import vehicles.
