Fuel Surcharge Matrix

A Fuel Surcharge Matrix in the trucking business is a mechanism used by carriers or customers (truck companies) to adjust shipping rates based on fluctuations in fuel prices. These rates will prefill on each shipment creation in the billing charges section.

Overall, a fuel surcharge matrix provides transparency and flexibility in pricing for both carriers and shippers in the trucking industry, helping to mitigate the impact of volatile fuel prices on shipping rates.

1. In your system you can also add the information of a Fuel Surcharge Matrix on your Customers profile. To navigate to this part you will have to first go to Customers Page - Specific Customer profile - Fuel Surcharge Matrix tab. Then to edit that information in the tab you will see the three dots and when you click on the you will be prompted with the information as you can see in the picture below. 

Fuel Surcharge Matrix here can be added on Any Shipment type and as well as to specific commodity(Articles of Metal). Likewise you can here input the pricing date, from and to which amount you want and you can add FSC/Per Mile.

To save any of that information you will first have to click on the tick in the purple box next to the specific FSM you are adding and then click on the Close button above, which is indicated with the arrow in the picture.
